Tourism investments: Morocco and China explore avenues for cooperation
Morocco and China are examining opportunities to boost tourism investment bilaterally.
It is with this in mind that the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT) organized a Sino-Moroccan digital forum. “At a time when global tourism investment is living an unstable situation with uncertain and precarious forecasts for the main providers of funds, this event confirms the positioning of the destination of Morocco on the international scene as a platform for tourism and hotel business and investment, ”say the organizers.
On this occasion, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Minister of Tourism, Crafts, Air Tourism and Social Economy highlighted the historic alliance existing between Morocco and China which has been further strengthened since the official visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to China in 2016. The Royal visit was indeed a major turning point in economic and trade relations between the two countries.
For his part, Imad Barrakad, Director General of SMIT affirmed that Morocco constitutes a tourist investment platform par excellence for Chinese investors. Emphasis was then placed on the various tourism investment opportunities in the Kingdom, in particular at the level of the Southern Regions, presentations which were very successful with the target present at this webinar.
